WOW, we just finished watching the film Hard Candy.

Netflix Synopsis

"In this suspenseful drama from director David Slade, Hayley (Ellen Page) is an intelligent teen who's been spending time with Geoff (Patrick Wilson), a much older man she met online. Even though Geoff is a charming, good-looking photographer, Hayley should know better than to go home with a guy in his early thirties, especially since he may have ulterior motives. Of course, Hayley may have underlying motives of her own..."

Made me think twice about meeting people from 'chat rooms' online (which I have never used 'chat rooms')....but still, wow, one never knows what's real and what's not. Wow, pretty scary, I'd say!

It's a well done film though.

Saw Watchmen the other night. I loved it! Martin wasn't so sure. Bit dragged out in places but I thought the layers upon layers were excellent! Loved the very un-typical version of 'superheroes'.

Forgot to add....great soundtrack to this film!!!

Last night we watched Street Kings, it's recommended if you're into the whole scene of corrupt cops of L.A., where drugs, money, guns, pain, car chases, and death reign and along side all that anguish .... I recommend this film for it's killer soundtrack .... and not to mention it does have a bit of a stellar cast ....

It has an awesome soundtrack and I hope to hear it again on Cinemagic of XM Radio sometime!

K, now I got my nerdishness out the way, what I really came here to recommend was...

AMBITION TO MEANING!

Totally brilliant film and one that should be COMPULSORY VIEWING in this society of ours. It's a beautiful, uplifting, utterly inspiring, moving, heartfelt and frankly life-changing film. It's a kind of drama featuring different characters coming to terms with their lives, making the shift from ambition, grasping, materialism to a more purposeful, inspired, spiritual mode of being. Wayne Dyer is an absolute inspiration, a true Buddha, whose warm wisdom (much of which is based on the principles of Taoism) is just a joy to hear. This film is particularly important in these times of uncertain economics, when people are slowly awakening to the fact that life is not all about money in the first place...I'm certain this film will hasten that awakening.

I love this film so much and can't recommend it highly enough. If enough people watched it, this world would transform overnight.

We watched a classic film last night .... On the Waterfront

The Curious Case Of Benjamin Button :Wow what a movie ,i simply laid back and enjoyed every scene,every character in the movie is alive with emotions..........hmm well i just don't understand why it didn't win the oscar and lost out the best picture award to the poverty porn slumdog.......People who have seen both the movies will agree with me.

Changeling :Another great masterpiece by Clint Eastwood,for the first time,i found myself liking Angelina Jolie,she plays a mother who lost her son and so powerfully portrays it on screen,the director has brought out the Actor inside the celebrity ,very emotionally charged and a must watch.

I mentioned how much I love Will Smith and Denzel Washington....so, I must include The Rock on that list because he is certainly hot, and funny, and thats just my type of guy! His acting has improved greatly since his first movie. I am not looking for too much from a Disney film....I am not too much into fantasy...but, I will certainly watch this film when it comes to HBO....

Saw Warlords with Jet Li last night!! Loved loved loved it!! Very visual and recommend it if you liked Hero etc.

The Visitor, we watched this film back in the fall and I can't remember if I've already mentioned here or not .... but it is an excellent film .... and I recommend it to you all!

Widowed professor Walter Vale (Richard Jenkins, in an Oscar-nominated role) discovers an immigrant couple, Tarek (Haaz Sleiman) and Zainab (Danai Gurira), squatting in his Manhattan flat and becomes wrapped up in their lives when Tarek is thrown into a detention center. A wonderful Hiam Abbass co-stars as Tarek's mother, who forges an unlikely connection with Walter. Thomas McCarthy won a Best Director Independent Spirit Award for his touching drama.

"The Visitor is exceptionally well-acted and full of interesting, wholly authentic and relatable characters that effectively carry the viewer through what might best be described as a bumpy plot; sometimes breezy, other times heavy-handed. The deliberately-paced story follows an emotionally disabled professor continuing to mourn the passing of his wife as he stumbles mechanically through the pages of his life. When unexpected friends provide a reason to reawaken, the film takes on a feel of importance; a message that life is worth living and people worth caring about regardless of circumstance. Very well-written, I was surprised by the quality here. Recommended."

I saw The Curious Case of Benjamin Button not long ago. Nice movie all-in-all, but it kind of dissapointed me that a unique director like David Fincher would choose to make such a Forrest-Gump-ish Oscar-drama.

I was there for the Midnight premier of "Watchmen." I loved it. However the one sex-- I mean soft core porn scene could have been shorter. It was awkward since I was with a group of mixed-company friends. Plus, the blue dude made me feel... inadequate? LOL

Also, a movie I watched this weekend, and HIGHLY recommend is "The Boy in the Striped Pajamas." It has a surprise twist at the end that will leave you in tears and/or with your mouth hanging open staring at the screen while the credits roll. Extremely powerful, though a bit unrealistic. I don't watch alot of movies, and I certainly own fewer-- I BOUGHT this one. It belongs on the shelf next to "Schindler's List." When watching it keep in mind: It's not about Nazi versus Jew, but about an innocent boy trying to understand and cope with a world gone mad around him.

It's sorta the prequel to "The DaVinci Code." I am a HUGE Tom Hanks fan. For those of us in the USA, they are going to premier the trailer for the movie Thursday night on NBC during "30 Rock."

I have a friend who saw this last week and I honestly don't think I would be able for it...too overwhelming for me!! She bawled after watching it and said it toook her ages to get over the feeling it left her with.

Saw Knowing last night. Excellent film and very much one with different layers to it! I would recommend this heartily!!!
