Will look out for that, Jordan. Thanks for the recommendation.

I rented "X Men First Class" yesterday and it was - first class! SO much better than Thor and also hugely better than the last couple of X Men films - easily on a par with X2 if not better. So it's still possible for Hollywood to make action-adventure films that are well-scripted, intelligent, well-characterised and emotional instead of just being showcases for bloated CGI (hang you head in shame, Thor!) I definitely recommend it, even for people who aren't familiar with the Xmen franchise. I thought I'd miss Patrick Stewart and Ian Mckellan but James Mcavoy and Michael Fassbender were brilliant replacements

Anyone else as excited about The Hobbit as I am? It looks amazing! And, it's going to be in two-parts, so book detail should be at a maximum.

Movies I am looking forward to seeing...

Viewer Discretion Strongly Advised. The trailer itself is graphic and very scary...

I am very excited about The Hobbit.
Though I have not read it in many years, the Tolkien novel is one of my favourite books.
Peter Jackson's adaptation of The Lord of the Rings was masterful, which makes my anticipation of The Hobbit all the greater.

Thought it's not a movie, I recommend the HBO series Homeland. Just finished watching the series and it was GREAT!
I also recommend the Movie Let Me In. It was such a wonderful movie--a true love story of a vampire. It is now on my top list of favorite movies.

We rented this from Netflix a few months ago ... and it is a bit of an odd murder/love story and even though it has a few violent and graphic scenes ... it certainly is worthy of being recommended ...

I found the scene with cats to be really funny ...

I highly recommend the Australian Claymation Film: Mary and Max.

All I can say is that it is such a beautiful movie. For me, it was one of those movies you walked away from a different person as was before you watched it. And for those who have ever had the time to enjoy the movie My Name is Khan, you will note a similarity between the two movies. It has a wonderful soundtrack and two of the most wonderful characters with stories that just crawl into your bloodstream.

    Galapagos
The Islands that Changed the World.

This beautiful, intimate and indepth look at the Galapagos Islands,
gave me a greater appreciation not only for the Islands themselves,
but for Life on Earth. I highly recommend it to you all.

tyvm, Narnia; I've always wanted to go to the Galapagos Islands, and I will surely check that movie out.

Last night, I watched Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close staring Thomas Horn, Tom Hanks and Sandra Bullock. This film, in addition to the movie recommendation I made last time, was also one in which you walked away a different person than you were before you watched it. It also portrays a main character that exhibits a particular similarity between the main characters in both Mary and Max and My name is Khan. I find it very interesting that they all share this commonality because it is this commonality that, for me, greatly enhanced the beauty of the films.
