Nature Moments...

Near my home is a small wooded area. In amongst the trees is a circular clearing. If you happen to be there mid to late summer just as the sun is setting, all the bats come out of the trees. They fly all around you catching insects that are flying low. It's almost magical the way so many of them fly around you. Hopefully I'll get to experience this again this year with camera in hand.

It really is amazing. Another cool thing about it i how you can feel as well as hear their echo-location calls. Very cool.

On a glorious weekend recently i went back to the Lakes hiking in the mountains, I took this photo on the last day, on the way back down from a mountain called Cat Bells overlooking Derwentwater lake. this is only a little mountain but some of the views from it on a clear day are amazing. Looking toward the bigger fells and Keswick town in the distance i thought, I could quite happily live here..

Now I know how Beatrix Potter felt, after coming here on holiday for years she moved to the Lakes permanantley to write her childrens stories..

The view from all sides of catbells is amazing, The view from the top looking westward also blew me away.. When I got back I found this wallpaper and I have had it as my desktop ever since, It shows it in all its glory,
