Default Farscape - my fav sci-fi show of all time!

I'm guessing not many people ever saw it, but this thread is to celebrate this outstanding, epic, wacky, funny, crazy and gutsy TV show. It's not only my favourite science fiction show, but I think of the greatest TV shows full stop.

A few months ago I started re-watching it and had forgotten how fantastic it was. It takes a few episodes to get going, but once it did it really was outstanding with superb characters and hands-down one of the greatest romances in the history of TV. At times utterly unhinged, I frelling love it (and yes, it has a huge lexicon of alien swear words!)

Thanks for reminding us of Farscape. I came to the series late (in its final season), but I found it highly inventive and dramatically affecting, regardless of genre. I am past due to seek out the earlier episodes that I missed.

Oh yeah, you must!! The series was at its best during its third season I think and there are so many wonderful storylines and story arcs that unfold during the first and second seasons too. It's wonderful watching the way the characters grow and evolve. When you go back you'll also get to know the priestess Zhaan, my favourite character, who was beautifully performed with great tenderness by Virginia Hey. She sadly didn't survive to the final season (the actress found the makeup was seriously affecting her health). Enjoy !!

Farscape was for myself one of those rare programs I would go out of my way to insure I was able to watch it. I enjoyed it so much. Lol. I was actually a little 'bumbed out' when they finally ended the program.
But like they say, nothing last forever...Lol...Except reruns.

The ending of the series, in 2002 was horrific! It got cancelled before they had the chance to conclude the story, so it ended with the two leads being blown to bits and a promise of "to be continued", only for the TV announcer to promptly tell us that it wouldn't be continued because it was the last episode ever. Such a traumatic ending!! Thank goodness the fans campaigned and they were able to conclude the story with the Peacekeeper Wars mini-series

I've rewatched the series about twice since then and love it more with each viewing. There's so much depth and attention to detail that you always pick up more. I sound like my dad now, but "they don't make em like that anymore" :P

I would certainly love to find the complete series on DVD, and be able to afford it. Maybe one day.

I finished my rewatch of Farscape, ending with the brilliant Peacekeeper wars miniseries. Had to share the final scene which brought tears to my eyes. Loved every moment of it.
