Chaos Stones

Does anyone know anything about chaos stones? Have you heard of them ever? Any info would be great! Thanks

I do not really know anything about chaos stones, but I have heard the term. As I recall, they occur in tales of the occult and are a solidified form of magical energy, which is sometimes referred to as chaos energy. That is the best I can offer. Perhaps someone else knows more.

Apart from some of the games where they are mentioned, I am not really sure what they are? If as Bluestar suggested, you could elaborate a little, we might be able to assist as we may know these as something else. What do you know about them yourself?

Chaos stones, as far as I know and given that I dont know the context in which you found the reference, is actually a reference to an example of chaos theory. Its not at all common and Im actually surprised that someone who is not deep into theoretical quantum physics has even heard of it. Chaos theory is an emerging field of study in applied mathematics, with applications in several disciplines including physics, economics, biology and philosophy. Chaos theory studies the behavior of dynamical systems that are highly sensitive to initial conditions; an effect which is popularly referred to as the butterfly effect.

In the example, a pile of stones is used to illustrate a system to understand the relationship between things which interact. The pile is a system which interacts based upon how they were piled. If their initial piling is not in balance, the interaction results in their movement until they find a condition under which they are in balance. A group of stones which do not touch each other, however, are not a system because the interaction between is so minute, it can be considered non-existant or in a chaotic state...thus chaos stones.

The only other place Ive heard of them has been in certain video games, although I believe that thats more in line with what Anjou defined it as.

Chaos theory, however, is VERY real with mind boggling implications.
