So, if you were offerred a million euros but you would be require to accept the terms; You must allow for your entire memory to be erased. Everything learned and experienced throughout your lifetime. In exchange you receive the euros and the promise of reeducation up to a doctorate level.

For myself, I believe I would laugh at who ever it was proposing this, say "No thank you.", then turn and walk away.
I wouldn't accept such terms even if they included a cure for AIDS.

Interesting you posed this question Michael. In my meditation and self enquiry practise, I regularly ask myself the question: without thoughts, memories and associations, what am I? And I realise that I am actually more 'my self' when I have ditched all that and there is just pure awareness. So it's funny, I consciously erase my memories in meditation on a regular basis. My memories and experiences don't make me and the more I let them go, the more I dip into the pure awareness that is my true nature. That said, they are necessary to dip into and I wouldn't accept any money or anything else in exchange for a memory wipe! Quite simply, I would not want to forget my loved ones past and present. That's about it though.
Wow that's weird! ... okay you're asking what's weird ... well, I'll tell you ...
Just got a check in the mail for some artwork of mine that recently sold.
A small painting sold, ok no that's not the weird part ... the weird part is, is it sold on my Mom's birthday at exactly 12:34pm (how do I know all this - from a copy of the transaction itself) ... well while in the studio that day, I do remember just happening to look at the time, it read 12:34 ... my reason for glancing at the clock was because I was planning on calling my Mom near 1:00pm (because she would be home from class by then) so ... I could wish her a happy birthday ....
Well, if don't you find that the slightest bit weird, I do.

I know, I know, Elvis Costello has a great following ... some have tried to tell me it's probably a generational thing as to why I may not like him ... but really I don't think so ... I just don't like the sound of his voice ...
Though I thrilled you like him and he has special spot in your life ... so, you go ahead and blare Elvis all you want in your house!!
