Hmm, it seems a website/forum the majority of us here are familiar with is going to internet heaven. Kind of sad since it's been 10 years since I first joined up, yet thankfully I'd long since found a new and better home

This week I'm starting an anti candida diet (for health reasons). It's gonna be very very difficult. No sugar, fruit, dried fruit, nuts, processed food, yeast, malt, caffeine, fermented food, alcohol, the list goes on. I hope I don't wither away to nothing! :P But heck, anything is worth a try.

I admire your willingness to embrace this strict regimen in your quest.
I am curious about which of these items you will most miss---both at the beginning of the diet and later, when you have become more accustomed to it.

Good luck Rory!! I remember getting a book for my sister 'Cooking Without' and that was based on the anti-candida diet! I will be thinking of you honey and be prepared for withdrawal symptoms.

Thanks guys, decided to postpone the diet for a week or so as I am getting blood tests done in the meantime and have to get properly representative results. I may start a thread on my dietary misadventures. Following the candida diet, been recommended what's called the 'stone age diet' supposedly based upon the foods we evolved to eat, although it will be quite a challenge being a vegetarian.

I'm currently sitting here wonder why it's always difficult for myself to sleep well the night before a doctor's appointment.?. It's not an extreme or seriously important appointment. But nonetheless, I sit here awake whem I wish I was sleeping. LOL. Oh well. There's purpose in it somewhere.

On second and third thoughts, "Dietary Misadventures" is a great title for a potentially entertaining (and informative) thread.
It is ever-so-slightly off-putting, yet it entices you to take a peek and share one's own misadventures.

No meat for me! I will have to work around that.

Hope you managed to get off to sleep, sleepless nights are no fun, something I've struggled with since childhood. And hope your doctor's appointment went well

LOL it does sound a little off-putting, haha. We shall see! Food is one of the things we all share in common, most the time I think we relate to food on an automatic and habitual way, it gets quite interesting and challenging when we begin to be very conscious about everything we eat. Might be a cool thread idea

Cool thread indeed. I'm looking forward to this. Maybe focusing on the expressed grattitude for you meals? Hmm. Just a thought.
    As for the doctor's appointment...
The woman was completely disrespectful. When I attempted to speak 'With' her as two adults, she quickly made it clear that that would not occur. At that point I stood up with my jacket in hand, opened the door (and it just so happened that my med/psych case manager was walking directly acrossed my path and turn to face me) and stated in a calm, assertive voice, "I am not here for this." And proceed on my way back home. I later (within 2 hours approx.) called the doctor's case manager/head nurse and calmly expressed that I was treated with disrespect and would be filing a formal complaint with regard to this doctor's behavior while I was there. Earlier this evening I contacted the regional governing agency and had the incident entered into my file. Hmm.
    And now back to reality.

    Hi Michael
It may be different for you but I also do not sleep well before going to an appointment. I figure it is just because I do not really live by a schedule, sleep when I can and up the rest of the time. But when we have a scheduled appointment we have to be up and ready to go by a certain time and it may not feel like your are stressed but I would bet you are at least a little. I know that I am stressed a little and that is why I can not fall asleep even if I take a sleeping pill. This answer may be right for you or not, just felt the need to share.

    Love and Light
