Really!?! Part 6 of Random Thoughts ... :7hit (1):
My goodness, that's a lot of randomness going on here with our thoughts. LOL
Mine have become less random at the source...
These new random thoughts seem very fresh. It is all good. :Boy_yes3:
On Friday, we received nine inches of fresh, heavy snow here. More evidence of this brutal winter.
Surprisingly, there was a warming trend by Sunday.
Today, winter coats, mittens, scarves, gloves, and boots have been swapped for light jackets.
The local ice-cream stand has opened.
Is this finally a sign of spring, or is Mother Nature teasing me? :wacko1:
Brutal doesn't even describe it here. Our home has sustained a bit of physical damage. How bad does a winter have to be in my neck of the woods where even the house can't withstand it... Thankful for home insurance. As fast as the snow is melting, I wonder if I will still have a snowdrift to put my cold drink in to keep cold come Canada Day weekend (July 1) hehe
Hi everyone... :)
Hey there Shalott!! This past winter I tried my very best not to complain about it because I was thinking of you, and my friends up in Michigan, where you guys were just hammered and hammered! Glad to hear the snow is melting and that your insurance can cover the costs.
Anyhoo ... it's super seeing you here again!! :D
Yeah, very grateful for that! More of the snow has melted (it's slushy type snow like you would get at the convenience store for a slurpee lol) thanks to warm temps and rain. Noticed this morning that the downspout is hanging too. Will have to get a picture of that for documentation. All the eaves will have to be replaced. The insurance company sent an adjuster out and he tried to downplay it. He was bloody lucky I wasn't here I would have given him quite the what-for. He said this was most likely a maintenance issue as we didn't keep the snow from accumulating on the roof of our florida room. "It's not like it came overnight." My hubby's response "Um, yes it did and we have the picture to prove it." Pesky insurance companies :) In the meantime our Florida room is a write off, mold is forming and the kids and I are sick a lot it seems. Trying to keep on top of it but it's hard when the carpet is saturated and squishy. We had a local guy lined up to rip the carpet up, take the drywall out so the mold doesn't grow as rapidly as it is. But Insurance Company wants to send their guy out to do it as he's licensed with them. But he can't come out for another two weeks at least.
Been getting the kids outside as much as I can for fresh air and not breathing in bad air in the house. It's been rainy a lot though which doesn't mix well with cochlear implants.
We'll get through it :)
Shalott :two hearts:
